Another turkey gave it’s life for American feast. Went to Walnut Creek with Kleber family to skate around.  Thanks (?) to global warming, we’re still enjoying 70 degree weather in Bay Area.

After a long life in Orinda, an oak tree above the house died this summer and needed to come down. Already cabled back, it was just a little too risky to have it come down on the roof. Natalie is shown for sizing to the root base.

Expert dudes at East Bay Tree Service did a quick job taking it down. More pictures at Flickr

Per City of Orinda ordinances, we received prompt permission to proceed.

Just finished expanding my WIFI coverage with tomato firmware . Instead of buying an expensive accesspoint, used an old WRT54G and configured WDS to get broad coverage and access point to DirecTV DVR. Easy stuff with these directions

Nicholas and papa went to Berkeley campus to see the mighty UCLA Bruins take their second road win(70-58) this season over the Golden Bears in Berkeley. Great game, fabulous talent, hope they can sustain till March…

Despite all hopes for a great UCLA season, and a sure victory over the struggling Irish, the Bruins fell short in a sad game. Having walk-on QB may explain some of it. Nevertheless, always fun to visit RoseBowl with the Petrus gang. Final 6-20 :(

Hard to live in California without a convertible…so after searching locally and internet, we decided on the CLK350, leased from eBay. Friendly folks at VernEide had a great ebay deal and pretty soon car was in Orinda.

Unfortunately, that also means the reliable and good-looking bmw will have to find a new owner. 69K miles and listed for $15.5K, bargain in my opinion :)
