A quick weekend break to us to the Greenthal’s Tahoe escape for some summer fun at the Lake. Glenbrook has the perfect beach for swin, boating and hiking (Shakespeare nose!).

After two intense years at Nanomix , I got the opportunity to join a somewhat larger company. With the recent acquisition of Chiron by Novartis, a new division was created “Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics” that will expand the current blood testing business. Look forward to meet the new crew and the new challenges. Hope that Nanomix keeps moving along so my shares will be worth something in the end!?

A one week break between transition from Nanomix to Novartis and searing heat in Orinda was enough to pack up the XC90 and head for the beach. We were lucky to find a spot at L’auberge Del Mar and meet up with our friends.

In July, we had a summer invitation to visit the Petrus mountain crib in Tamarack, Idaho. Newly developed “four season” resort near cascade reservoir and Payette river. Driving up from Boise on 55, you can see the river working its way down with some scary rapids. We stayed on the upper part on a rafting trip but great fun for the family. Hiking on the slopes, kayaking on the lake and of course great entertainment by our hosts.

We had hoped that the 2005-2006 winter and rain season would be a bit drier than last year. However, going back to the monster dump on new year’s eve, the clouds keep pouring it on. Finally, on 4/12, we crossed the 40″ mark (that’s 1 meter for metric readers)! Where’s the sun?
