August is over and so is our vacation. Although we had some sprinkling along the way, the trip to bretagne was a success. Kids had fun and location was gorgeous. Here’s nicholas, maaika and anniek in the backyard of the villa.

We visited Uncle Albert in Oostende, enjoyed the “tomates crevettes, boule de berlin and mussels”. Good times for all.

We’re off for a couple of weeks to europe (belgium & france). Visiting the family with the kids and a week on the beach in bretagne!
In the meantime, the house is up for sale!!

Not a good day for Wall Street and definitely not if you’re getting a Nanotech IPO out. Nanosys (NNSY) pulled their offering amids cooling interest in IPOs. Time will tell….

It is finally official…after a little more than 6 years, i resigned from my post as VP at Nanogen last Thursday. By coincidence, the Q2 earnings were released and dropped the stock by 20%…go figure. It was an interesting period at the company: 5 presidents/COO, 2RIFs, challenging technology, 2 projects and a whole bunch of smart people and great friends. Maybe it’s time to start writing the memoirs? Time will tell, on to newer ventures with new challenges and lots of changes (including a move!). I have to save my entry in the “management” of www.nanogen.com:
