Author ArchiveWe had hoped that the 2005-2006 winter and rain season would be a bit drier than last year. However, going back to the monster dump on new year’s eve, the clouds keep pouring it on. Finally, on 4/12, we crossed the 40″ mark (that’s 1 meter for metric readers)! Where’s the sun?
The 2005 UCLA football season continues with amazing success. Surprisingly, Halloween is just hours away and as a prelude a school event was put together at Nicholas’ Sleepy Hallow School. Kathy helped put the haunted house together with the parents and created an alien invasion scene. The OR scene left quite an impression on a few unsuspecting customers….
Our first football season in the bay area should include at least one trip to UC Berkely Memorial Stadium. With our Berkeley alumni friends (Greentahl/Bous), we witnessed the Bears shut out the inept Wildcats 28-0. Next week, I’ll have to watch TV to see the matchup with my unbeaten bruins.
Life in the Bay Area invariably involves bridges and traffic. Coming from SoCal, we don’t have the public transportation habit. Nevertheless, we’ve found the BART to and from downtown a great escape. Kathy, Nicholas and Natalie at the Orinda Bart station with the train pulling in:

Mom and kids went to explore the local mountains and skied a couple of days at Lake Tahoe. First time for Natalie and she loved it! With all the rain this season, there was plenty of snow and deluxe accomodations at the Hyatt. Snow everywhere Everyone on skis
